    pouches2Sunday, February 21, 2016
    Noon – 3:00 p.m.

Free and open to the public – all ages welcome.

Each month, join us at The Rockwell for FunDay Sunday – a series of completely free family activities designed to encourage creativity, self-expression, and an interest in art an early age. Visitors of all ages are invited to The Rockwell Museum for an afternoon of hands-on creativity.  No registration required.

Historically, Native Americans carried pouches or bags and were used by both men and women to carry all sorts of personal items such as seeds, food, supplies, medicine, fire-starting equipment, and other small tools.  Every bag was unique.  They are traditionally made from tanned animal hides or animal bladders and were and are often beaded or quilled with intricate patterned designs. We’ll make pouches using felt, ribbons, colorful beads and feathers, and  a lot of creativity!

Drop in any time between noon and 3:00 p.m. to participate in this fun family art activity!
