The Rockwell Museum and The Corning Museum of glass are thrilled to welcome internationally-renowned ceramicists, fashion designer and graphic artist, Virgil Ortiz for an interactive, week-long exploration of a material new to him — glass! From October 19 through 25, 2015, both museums will host a series of events showcasing Ortiz’s artistic process.
Moderator Rob Cassetti will lead a panel discussion with Eric Meek, manager of hot glass programs at The Corning Museum of Glass, and Virgil Ortiz about their artistic collaboration. Program attendees will have a chance to see The Rockwell’s latest acquisition of Ortiz ceramics, as well as special exhibition of ceramic pieces that will be on view throughout the residency.
