The Rapid River Boys (Marty Horn and Mike I.) present a blend of acoustic music, storytelling and a discussion about the birth of Organic Folk in this 1-hour performance. The Rapid River Boys have performed over 150 shows since 2014, from small towns to booming metropolises across the United States.
Founded in 2014 in Ithaca, New York, the Rapid River Boys’ roots stretch deep into the winding valleys of New York’s Southern Tier and throughout the Finger Lakes Region. Marty Horn and Mike I. have been nourished by the resilient landscape. Drawing inspiration from their experiences and inspiring others to continue a process of growth through storytelling. The melodic combination of guitar, banjo and mandolin spawns a positive vibration that will uplift listeners.
In 2015, the track “Fill Your Cup” from the EP “Trek” was featured on Roadtrip Nation and nationally televised on PBS. Since the release of their first full length album “Animating Principle” in 2016, the Rapid River Boys have performed over 100 shows in 11 states. They continue to travel and share their experiences with communities throughout the United States. In 2018, The Rapid River Boys returned to Roadtrip Nation as featured musicians with their tracks “Sun and Moon” and “Pretty Song”.
*Saturday, May 5 is Crystal City Saturday – celebrating 150 years of glassmaking in Corning. We’re showing a little extra love to our locals (zip codes starting 148, 149, 169) by offering free admission for all ages before the launch of a busy summer season.
