The Rockwell is pleased to once again partner with Corning Community College Theater Department for this dramatic, student-directed retelling of the events that inspired Ernest Blumenschein’s famous painting: Jury for Trial of a Sheepherder for Murder.
The performance will examine the role of justice in the United States legal system. We see a trial through the eyes of a juror, in 1920s New Mexico, where the US has just recently introduced the jury system to the newly acquired territory.
Andrew Fish wrote and directed this performance; he is joined by fellow CCC students including actors Eladio Martinez and Camden Ayers, and production designer Willow Keith.
Andrew Fish is a recent graduate of Corning Community College, and will be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in theater from Binghamton University next August. He previously appeared in various productions with Muse of Fire: CCC Student Theatre Organization, and also acted as Andy Warhol in the Rockwell Museum’s Urban Arts Crawl spotlight on “Cowboys and Indians” by the aforementioned artist.
This brief 20-minute performance will be presented twice on August 3, 2017, starting at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m.
