Make your own Haudenosaunee (Iroquois) inspired corn husk doll and explore the Museum galleries with your friends and family. Artist Ronnie Reitter (Seneca Nation of Indians/Wolf Clan) will share about her Haudenosaunee culture and traditions, including the legend of the corn husk doll. She will then lead participants in making their own corn husk creations.

About Veronica (Ronnie) Reitter
Ronnie Reitter (Seneca Nation of Indians/Wolf Clan) is an accomplished cornhusk traditional artist, seamstress, storyteller and educator. Using corn husks Ronnie creates beautiful dolls, moccasins, mats, tobacco baskets, flowers and other containers. Ronnie’s training includes an internship at the Fenimore House Museum and the Iroquois Indian Museum. She has presented at numerous schools, organizations and museums including the Museum of the American Indian, Explore and More Children’s Museum and Rochester Museum & Science Center. She exhibited her work at Seneca Nation Fall Festival, New York State Fair and sold dolls as far away as Japan and Russia. As a master teacher, Ronnie has taught corn husk workshops at the Seneca Nation, training Seneca teachers, who in turn continue to teach corn husk work within the community. A talented seamstress, Ronnie designs and sews traditional Haudenosaunee clothing. She brings these skills to the art of dressing her cornhusk dolls.
