    Lecture Description

Take a deep dive into Forces of Nature: Renwick Invitational 2020 with Nora Atkinson, Fleur and Charles Bresler Curator-in-Charge of the Renwick Gallery of the Smithsonian American Art Museum, and Guest Curator Emily Zilber. The exhibition focuses on four artists whose creative engagement with the natural world allows us to explore what it means to be human. We’ll pay special attention to two site-specific installations created using materials including fiber, glass, mosaic. These works which examine the idea of environment in a broad sense and through physical engagement with the unique architecture of the Renwick Gallery.
