The Rockwell is pleased to partner with the ARTS Council of the Southern Finger Lakes for IMAGINE! Public Art in the Plaza – a multidisciplinary arts event, which envisions the Corning Civic Center Plaza as a future Public Arts Park. Local artists, street performers/buskers, temporary art installations, as well as dynamic open-air theatre, music and dance performances will fill Corning’s Civic Center Plaza and covered ice rink with art!
American Dance Asylum, Cantata Singers, Corning Museum of Glass, Elmira Little Theatre, the Orchestra of the Southern Finger Lakes, Elmira Infinite Canvas, The Rockwell Museum, Shakespeare Without Walls, and Southeast Steuben County Library are just a few of the organizations transforming the Corning Civic Plaza! Throughout the weekend, Rockwell-sponsored artist Tori Burdick will design and paint a vibrant community mural! Stop by to see this public art piece unfold with the help of artist Jess Smith.
Bring your own chair or blanket to enjoy these family-friendly performances and arts offerings in the covered ice rink.
