Join The Rockwell Museum and the Friends of the Chemung River Watershed for a discussion on current watershed conditions, environmental laws, impending threats, and actions the public can take to protect our waterways. River Friends Executive Director, Jim Pfiffer, will share how strong leadership, business and government support, and community buy-in are crucial in successfully caring for our waterways.
Friends of the Chemung River Watershed was formed in December 2009 to preserve and promote the 45-mile-long Chemung River and its tributaries — the Canisteo, Cohocton, Susquehanna and Tioga rivers. River Friends is a not-for-profit organization that partners with municipalities to protect these waterways and use them to improve the quality of life, economy, and natural environment of our communities.
Last Call Opportunity: Between 5:00 and 6:00 p.m., visitors will have the chance to see the stunning water-focused exhibition, The Colorado River: Flowing Through Conflict. These photographs by National Geographic Photographer, Pete McBride, have been extremely well received by Rockwell visitors and will be leaving The Rockwell February 7th to accommodate a new featured exhibition.
