This Spring Break, The Rockwell Museum makes it easy to get out of the house and into meaningful family fun. Enjoy your stay-cation with a different artful activity each day of the week, totally free of charge. Registration is encouraged for these engaging art experiences. Workshop seating is limited!
As always, drop in with the family anytime between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. to explore the galleries with an Art Hunt or I-Spy game, and get creative in our Family Exploration Studio. Kids and teens 17 and under are always free!

45-min time slots starting at 10 am, 11 am, 12 pm and 1 pm.
Monday: Alexander Calder Inspired Mobile
Create your own kinetic sculpture inspired by American artist Alexander Calder and see one of his mobiles on view in the special exhibition, Modernist Masters, Contemporary Icons: Highlights from the Old Jail Art Center. Paint, draw and cut out geometric shapes to hang and balance from wire.
Online registration is now closed for this event, but there’s still plenty of room; walk-ins welcome!
Tuesday: Clay Box Landscapes
Sculpt, shape and mold clay in a box to create an imagined topographical landscape inspired by the majestic landscape paintings on view in The Rockwell’s galleries. Add details and textures of different landforms by pressing beads, ribbon, pipe cleaners and other materials into the clay.
Wednesday: Sun Discs
Decorate your own cardboard circular disc with mixed media materials using radial symmetry. Add symbols, patterns or designs about the spring season, the sun, new growth, the circle of life, fire and light. Turn your sun disc into a mask by drawing a face in the center.
Thursday: Spring Wands
Make a magical wand to celebrate spring! Create your own spring-themed designs out of felt, jewels, ribbon and other fun materials.
Friday: Art Explorers Day!
Visit The Rockwell and explore the galleries on your own. Art Hunts, Art Quest and I Spy will be available. No reservation necessary!
