During this workshop, participants will craft a small wall shelf in clay for displaying a special object. Bring to class one or more objects that you would like to display and are no larger than 4 inches in width. Instructor and Ceramic Artist, Linda Huey, will demonstrate various techniques and discuss ways in which the shelf can serve as a complementary support for the object, interacting with the object in a creative way.
Session One will focus on building and designing your shelf; Session Two will focus on glazing your project using various colors and glaze-types. The projects will be available later for pick up, after being kiln-fired. Beginners and intermediate levels welcome, age 16 and up.

About the Instructor
Linda Huey is a full-time studio artist who makes pottery and sculpture using nature forms as a source of inspiration. Huey currently lives and works in New York and Boston. Her work has been published in numerous books and national magazines and is included in public and private collections. Linda received a Master’s Degree in Ceramic Art from the New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University and is represented in Massachusetts by Clark Gallery.
