    April 29, 2016
    5:00 – 8:00 p.m.

FREE and open to the public

    This month at The Rockwell:

winetastingMake Your Own May Day Bouquet Holder and Sip a Summer Bouquet with Glenora Wine Cellars!  Then, fill your baskets with traditional Lillies of the Valley and other summer time fresh flowers.

May Day, a curious custom — still practiced in discrete pockets of the country — went something like this: As the month of April rolled to an end, people would begin gathering flowers and candies and other goodies to put in May baskets to hang on the doors of friends, neighbors and loved ones on May 1.

Four reasons we like the May basket tradition:

    • Giving is anonymous and reciprocity is not expected
    • Children can give to grownups, instead of the other way around
    • It doesn’t take much to brighten someone’s day
    • May baskets signal warmer weather!

What is the Urban Arts Crawl?

TUAC_mainlogohe Urban Arts Crawl celebrates the everyday opportunities to enjoy art and culture found throughout Downtown Corning, New York. As a self-guided, art-centric experience on the final Friday of each month during the Winter, Spring and Fall,  the Urban Arts Crawl includes stops at internationally acclaimed museums and independent galleries alike.

Artist demonstrations, wine and beer tastings, live music and more make the crawl a truly unique and entertaining experience. Plan to spend your evening on Historic Market Street with various social opportunities at local bars and restaurants post crawl.

Each month, URBANCORNING.COM  will be your resource for participating locations and unique experiences.
