On Fire! The Nancy and Alan Cameros Collection of Southwest Pottery on
View at The Rockwell Museum

The latest exhibit at The Rockwell Museum features more than 100 pieces of top-quality southwest pottery from the Nancy and Alan Cameros Collection. The new exhibit, prominently displayed in custom, purpose-built mahogany casework, features vessels born of Native earth, crafted in fire, and displayed for both their historic importance as well as their artistic beauty. Interactive touch screens will allow visitors to learn more about the history, craftsmanship, and artistry of these vessels.

The diverse collection includes a mix of contemporary Native American art with traditional bronze sculptures, landscape paintings and other works that embody America. Housed in the beautifully restored 19th century Old City Hall building, The Rockwell is active in the local community and holds special events and educational programming with area public schools. Proceeds generated from these events support the more than 5,000 students who enter the doors each year for a special Museum experience.

A family visit to The Rockwell Museum now includes drop-in play in the new Family Exploration Studio. In this interactive space, visitors of all ages can drop-in and draw, perform a puppet show, build with blocks, match the tiles in a pottery demo, and read together in the book nook. As always, kids and teens are free. Families are encouraged to drop-in any time; no reservations are required.
