The Rockwell Museum is the only Smithsonian Affiliate in Upstate New York. Housed in the beautifully restored 19th- century Historic Old City Hall in Corning, New York, The Rockwell lays at the heart of the greater Finger Lakes fine arts community.

The Rockwell Museum tells the story of the American experience through fine art. The diverse collection includes a mix of nineteenth-century American paintings, historic bronzes, Native American objects, twentieth-century modernists, illustration art and contemporary photography.

Hours

Current Museum hours are 9 a.m. – 7 p.m.

The Rockwell is open every day 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the fall, winter and spring. Memorial Day through Labor Day (Summer), hours are 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. 

The Museum is closed January 1, Thanksgiving Day, December 24 and 25.

Admission is FREE for Rockwell Museum members year-round.

All military veterans will receive free admission to The Rockwell Museum throughout the entire month of November.

The Museum is once again participating in the *Blue Star Museums program, offering free Museum admission to all active military and their families, Armed Forces Day through Labor Day. The Museum also offers a $1.00 discount to all military, all year long. 

Local Residents Rate: The Museum offers a special 50% OFF admission rate to local residents who live in in the Corning region – specifically those areas in New York and Pennsylvania where the zip codes begin with 148, 149 or 169. Local residents may bring up to two guests in at the resident rate.

Parking and Accessibility

Free Parking is located directly behind the Museum. Additional parking is available in neighboring municipal lots; City of Corning parking fees apply.

You can also visit us via a free shuttle bus, which provides service between The Corning Museum of Glass, The Rockwell Museum and Market Street.

All museum entrances are wheelchair and stroller accessible. Public galleries are accessible and can be reached by elevator. However, not all doors are on power assist. There are wheelchair-accessible restrooms on the mezzanine level.

Manual wheelchairs are available free of charge on a first-come, first-served basis; just ask any Museum staff person for assistance. The Rockwell also welcomes your personal walkers, wheelchairs and scooters.

Shop

We have a fantastic museum shop full of unique items for the whole family, with many wares handmade by Native American artisans. The Museum Store features made-in-the-USA, Native-made, and fair-trade quality products related to our collection that make for unique and inspiring gifts.

Our shop is open seven days a week, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.; open until  7 p.m. Memorial Day through Labor Day.

There is no admission fee to shop.

Directions

The Rockwell is steps away from Historic Market Street in downtown Corning, in the Historic City Hall building. Market Street offers a wide array of specialty eateries and unique shopping boutiques.

From The North: I-90E to Exit 46 (at Rochester) to I-390S to I-86E (NY-17E) to Exit 46. At end of ramp, take a right onto 414/Center Way, crossing the Bisco Bridge. Center Way turns into Cedar Street. The Rockwell is on your right, on the corner of Denison Parkway and Cedar Street. Only .8 miles from highway exit.

From The West: I-86E (NY-17E) to Exit 46. At end of ramp, take a right onto 414/Center Way, crossing the Bisco Bridge. Center Way turns into Cedar Street. The Rockwell is on your right, on the corner of Denison Parkway and Cedar Street. Only .8 miles from highway exit.

From The South: US-15N to I-86E (NY-17E) to Exit 46. Take a right onto 414/Center Way, crossing the Bisco Bridge. Center Way turns into Cedar Street. The Rockwell is on your right, on the corner of Denison Parkway and Cedar Street. Only .8 miles from highway exit.

From The East: I-86E (NY-17W) to Exit 46. Take a left onto 414/Center Way, crossing the Bisco Bridge. Center Way turns into Cedar Street. The Rockwell is on your right, on the corner of Denison Parkway and Cedar Street. Only .8 miles from highway exit.

From the greater New York City area: Take the George Washington Bridge to I-80W to I-380W to I-81N to I-86W (NY-17W). Take exit 46 – turn left at end of ramp. Follow signs to The Rockwell Museum (only .8 miles from highway exit).
