    Saturday, May 5, 2018* | 12:30 – 1:30 p.m.

This is a presentation of Bare Bones Café, a community-sourced museum experience included with regular Rockwell admission. Refreshments will be available. Full schedule

In this performance that both utilizes and challenges the format of the traditional “visiting artist lecture,” Sanz combines storytelling with projected visuals in an exploration of self, an investigation of cultural and family history, and a declaration of identity.

Laura Sanz is an artist from Bogota, Colombia. She received her MFA from Syracuse University in 2015 and currently lives and works in Corning, NY. Her paintings oscillate between figural narrative representations and expressionism and she has also recently begun to explore ceramics in her daily practice.

*Saturday, May 5 is Crystal City Saturday – celebrating 150 years of glassmaking in Corning. We’re showing a little extra love to our locals (zip codes starting 148, 149, 169) by offering free admission for all ages before the launch of a busy summer season.
