School Groups

The Rockwell Museum is focused on providing meaningful learning opportunities for students and teachers. Our creative educational programs are aligned with New York State Learning Standards and inspire the interest of students in core subjects.

A close partnership with regional public school districts has enabled our museum to become an extension of the classroom-a laboratory that emphasizes critical thinking skills, and visual and analytical strategies. Students of all ages and abilities come to The Rockwell to learn about our nation’s growth and the blending of cultures that makes American society so special.

“Meet Me at the Museum” – Tours for People with Alzheimer’s and Dementia and their Care Partners

We have a special program designed for persons with dementia and their care partners. The focus includes viewing and discussing artwork in the galleries. Specially trained docents will highlight pieces in the Museum’s collection through a colorful presentation to stimulate conversation and reminiscence.

Meet Me at the Museum tours are offered in partnership with the Alzheimer’s Association, Rochester & Finger Lakes Region. Tours are offered each month from February through May and from September through December. Registration for Meet Me at the Museum is required. To register or to learn more, call 800.272.3900 or visit www.alz.org/rochesterny.

The program operates September – May; stay tuned for details.
