Art in Your Classroom

Teacher Workshops

We have a history of working with educators and have been creating curriculum, activities and other resources for educators and parents for the last two decades.

These resources are designed to integrate arts education with classroom learning.  We are at the forefront of the STEM to STEAM movement, complementing Corning’s reputation as a home of glass science and technology by adding in a more classical arts education program.

Our custom-designed programs assist teachers with creative strategies to teach grade-level curricula using the visual arts as inspiration. We have focused our efforts on helping classroom teachers, after-school educators, parents and other nonprofit organizations to give every child their best opportunity to learn and grow through art enrichment and engagement.

Culture, Community & the Classroom
Professional Development Series for Teachers and Artists

Culture, Community, and the Classroom 2019 in LeRoy, NY.

The Rockwell Museum is proud to partner with Local Learning Network (a national network for folk art in education) and The ARTS Council of the Southern Finger Lakes to offer Culture, Community & the Classroom, an active and culturally engaging workshop for teachers and artists in the Finger Lakes region.

Teachers earn CTLE credits and will build personal plans for the inclusion of culture–especially traditions and art forms meaningful locally–in their classrooms. Folk artists will learn methods to convey the significance of their cultural knowledge and create a plan to share key details about their art and its context to diverse audiences.

This program is free for New York teachers and traditional artists. Registration is now open for the 2022-2023 school year.
