Add to Calendar 09/27/2022 3:30 PM 09/27/2022 5:00 PM America/New_York High School Learning Center: Identity and the Artist Student Performance

Free and open to educators, family and friends of HSLC students!

Please join us for an afternoon of masks, music, movement and monologues! This culminating event of a special multi-media art program provides students an opportunity for self-reflection and community-building with their peers, teachers, professional artists and musicians.

Each year, students use The Rockwell’s art collection to serve as inspiration to create papier-maché masks and write personal monologues. The holistic creative process encourages students to build meaningful relationships and incorporate nature-themed metaphors and symbols into their art connected to their identities. Students will read their monologues while their classmates interpret their masks through movement, accompanied by live music. The presentation will also feature the High School Learning Center Band.

This project is made possible by a grant from The Triangle Fund. Additional support is provided by Kaleidoscope Studios.
