Function meets beauty as you build your own bowl with a landscape design. Participants will have the opportunity to use the artwork of Wayne Higby, now on view at The Rockwell, as inspiration for creating new ways of looking at landscapes. Using simple hand-building techniques and support forms, participants will create a clay bowl with a landscape or cityscape design. As seen in Higby’s work, the illusion of depth will be discussed as Linda provides 1:1 guidance. All materials and tools will be provided!
Session One will focus on building and designing your pot; Session Two will focus on glazing the pieces using various colors and glaze-types. The pots will be available later for pick up after being fired. Beginners and intermediate levels welcome, age 15 and up.
Previous clay classes with Linda Huey have sold out – register early to save your seat!
