Thursday, May 6, 2021
5:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Free | Space is limited, registration required
Please register for one of the timeslots below.
To-go treats will be available for members to take home.
Members and their guests are welcome to rekindle their connection with The Rockwell and explore the Museum after hours! Brian Lee Whisenhunt, Executive Director, or Kirsty Buchanan, Curator of Collections and Exhibitions, will be available to answer questions and chat about the spotlight exhibition and the many new things on view.
- Last chance to see Blistering Vision: Charles E. Burchfield’s Sublime American Landscapes! Charles E. Burchfield (1893–1967) reverently captured the awe-filled grandeur of nature, along with the fierce, deceptive beauty of the industries that threatened it. This spotlight exhibition will close May 9, 2021.
- Explore the new Annual Theme gallery. Collection favorites and new acquisitions come together around the theme of Environments Examined.
- While our commitment to acquiring only artwork by women artists in 2020 was cut short, we still managed to secure some exciting works. See a new (to us) series of prints by Georgia O’Keefe, etchings by Peggy Bacon and Isabel Bishop, the abstract paintings of Blanche Lazzelll and more!
- See important temporary loans from Art Bridges, including a self-portrait by Keith Haring and painting by Frank Stella, both on view this year only in the Modern & Contemporary Gallery
