Teens will have the opportunity to create and interpret art, meet Rockwell staff and professional artists, learn about the behind-the-scenes of careers in museums and connect with peers in a positive and inspiring environment. All high school students in the region are invited to join the Rockwell Teen Council.
The application period is closed for 2022.
Do you like to be creative? Are you interested in learning about art, arts-related career opportunities and having fun? You will work with museum staff and professional artists to explore diverse art and exhibitions and engage with art in meaningful ways.
A main goal for the 2022 Teen Council will be to develop a tool or unique mechanism to learn about what Gen Z audiences would like to see and do at The Rockwell. How can The Rockwell be more welcoming and engaging for Gen Z audiences? What activities, events, gallery games or digital media do teens imagine creating for their peers? The possibilities are endless.
No! You do not have to be an artist, or enrolled in art courses to participate in this program. We are seeking teens who are imaginative and want to connect with art and engage with peers.
This project is made possible in part by support from Community Foundation of Elmira-Corning and the Finger Lakes, Inc.
